We are a Bolivian non-profit association that brings together the peasant and indigenous community-based organisations that are involved in fair tourism. The organisations that form the Tusoco Network are initiatives of the communities that originated on a local level to develop tourism in their region. That is why they have different forms of organisations according to the traditions of each one.
Each year we organise one or several Associated members General Assemblies where the leaders of the associated organisations participate, coming from all over the country. In that forum we take the strategic decisions for the Network and we plan its activities.
The Associated members Assembly is our highest decision-making body. It is integrated by each member of the Tusoco Network, that is, all the community-based organisations that are members. This is how the Tusoco Network is self-managed by its associated members.
The same Assembly elects a national Directory consisting exclusively of representatives of the associated communities. We seek to have a fair representation of the main regions of the country.
In order to help the Directory with its work and carry out the Tusoco Network’s activities, we have a functional task team. It is formed by three to five full time persons; when necessary, it is completed with the work of consultants, volunteers and interns.
